This is how we get started:
- First we have a consultation in person or via video visit. This will be billed to your insurance.
- This visit is approximately 45 minutes. We go over the program in detail, including pros and cons and possible benefits, and side effects.
- Next after we agree to move forward with the program, we order the medicine. This is when you pay the first monthly payment. The medicine will arrive via overnight delivery to your home within 7 days if you are out of Salt Lake County, UT, or, if you live in Salt Lake county, via delivery to your doorstep from the pharmacy within 7 days.
- We meet again in person or via video visit for the first dose of the medicine, do discuss the technique.
- Each month, you’ll return for an in-person visit, or video visit if previously arranged.
- Once per week, each patient will text Dr. Marriott a report of daily exercise, water intake, protein intake. This is a very simple text.
Description of program:
Our monthly subscription covers the cost of the medicine, communication via text message each week, access for texting to ask questions, and a monthly visit with Dr. Marriott. Changes in medicine dosing do not change the cost of the monthly service. It is a flat fee. Please contact our clinic for pricing.
Patients have seen immediate cessation of weight gain the first month and typically start losing weight on month 2. As the dose increases, we aim for a monthly weight loss of 4-8 pounds.
- Phase 1 is three to six months as we increase the dose.
- Phase 2 is increasing to maintenance dosing, where the main weight loss occurs. This is usually around 12-18 months.
- Phase 3 is long-term maintenance with less frequent visits and lower dosing. We plan to help you maintain your weight loss and the investment of your time and resources by helping you maintain an active, healthy lifestyle and helping you gain access to this medicine at a lower dose long-term. A commitment to long-term use is not required to start the program, but is likely to be more successful.
